Welch, WV, (WOAY) – McDowell County Schools has a plan to get kids back in the classroom.
According to a post on the McDowell County Schools Facebook page, the plan is to reopen with students returning to campus on March 10, 2025. School officials will work with families individually who live in areas where bus routes are currently not accessible to find a solution to get those students back to school as soon as possible.
School Officials say they are committed to providing a safe and supportive learning environment for all students. They are working with the Department of Highways to ensure buses will run safely where roads are clear.
Bus routes and changes will be posted on the McDowell County Schools website by March 5, 2025.
