McDowell County Schools host Staycation week for students starting April 21

McDowell County, WV (WOAY)- McDowell County Schools has something special planned for students this spring break.

Since the spring break days are now instructional time following the three weeks of missed school following February’s floods, the county is hosting a Staycation for all students the week of April 21-25

Classrooms will visit virtual landmarks, explore tourist attractions, and engage in content studies while learning about history, geography, and culture.

McDowell County students will visit incredible landmarks and attractions each day, such as Yellowstone National Park, Disney World, New York City, and more.

Students are encouraged to be creative and come to school dressed to match the day’s destination for extra fun.

The cooks have planned a menu to match the day’s destination, taking students’ taste buds on a journey.

You can check out the details about Staycation and the online menu on the MCS App.
