English, WV (WOAY) A man is facing multiple felony charges following a child sexual abuse investigation in McDowell County.
Deputies responded to a residence in the English area on June 7 after receiving a report of a sexual assault involving a 14-year-old girl.
Investigators, along with Child Protective Services, conducted interviews and launched an investigation.
Authorities say the victim reported being sexually assaulted by an adult male.
Following interviews and the development of probable cause, deputies arrested Bobby Jim Kennedy.
Kennedy is charged with second-degree sexual assault, child sexual abuse by a guardian, child abuse creating risk of injury, first-degree sexual abuse, and providing alcohol to a minor.
The investigation was led by a member of the newly established McDowell County-Wyoming County Crimes Against Children Task Force and remains ongoing.
