McDowell County Commission to discuss hazard mitigation and flood buyouts

McDowell County, WV (WOAY) – The McDowell County Commission will hold a public discussion about possible hazard mitigation and flood buyouts.

The discussion will happen at the County Commission meeting on October 8. The county suffered severe flooding in February of this year.

McDowell County has the highest ratio of population living in a high-risk flood plain in the entire state.

The meeting is set for 4 p.m. On October 8, at the McDowell County Commission Armory.
