May primary voting starts Friday as absentee ballots are mailed to voters

Charleston, WV (WOAY)- Voting for the May 14 primary election officially starts today.

Voters who applied for an absentee ballot will begin receiving them in the mail at the address on their application as early as today.

Voters who cannot vote in person or submit an absentee vote without assistance can contact their county clerk to participate electronically.

Secretary of State Mac Warner reports that, to date, almost 1,200 voters have applied for absentee ballots.
