West Virginia (WOAY) Martial artist and actor Chuck Norris has died at 86 years old.
Norris’s family confirmed his death in a statement which reads in part, “To the world, he was a martial artist, actor, and a symbol of strength. To us, he was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, an incredible brother, and the heart of our family.”
One of Norris’ most famous roles was “Walker, Texas Ranger.”
As a competitive martial artist earned black belts in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Tang Soo Do, and Taekwondo.
Norris used his expertise to train fellow actors in stunt work.
Norris’ sudden passing follows a recent hospitalization.
The actor’s cause of death has not been announced in line with the family’s wishes for privacy at this time.
