Marshall releases 2025 football schedule

Huntington, WV (WOAY) – Marshall University releases its 2025 schedule just days before spring football begins.

The Herd will kick off the season with a road trip to meet nationally ranked powerhouse Georgia along with 6 home dates at Joan C. Edwards Stadium. On October 11, 2025, Old Dominion makes the trip to Huntington for Homecoming and a November 8, 2025, contest against James Madison, which will serve as the ’75’ game.

Marshall will also have a coach on the sidelines as Boone County native Tony Gibson will bring new energy and a new staff, along with 60+ new players to the Marshall roster for the 2025 season.

“We are excited to have our schedule for the 2025 season so fans can make plans to support the Herd,” Marshall Football coach Tony Gibson said. “Marshall has always been one of the toughest places to play in college football and I look forward to leading our team out onto the field this fall. We need every fan to step up, get tickets and fill ‘The Joan’ as we get this thing going!”

The Thundering Herd is coming off a 2024 Sun Belt Conference Championship season with a 10-3 record ending the season on a seven-game win streak that culminated with a 31-3 win over Louisiana in the 2024 Hercules Tires Sun Belt Conference Football Championship Game at Cajun Field in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Times and television considerations for the 2025 season will be released by the Sun Belt Conference and ESPN later this spring.
