Marshall ranked in AP poll for the first time since 2014

WOAY – Marshall is ranked for the first time since 2014.

The Thundering Herd came in at 25th in the latest AP poll after upsetting then-No. 23 Appalachian State 17-7 on Saturday. It was their first victory over a ranked opponent since they beat Kansas State on September 20th, 2003.

Adding to the historic day, it was their first win over a ranked opponent at home since 1976.

Marshall now becomes the first Conference USA team to be ranked since Western Kentucky in 2015. Next up, the Herd is scheduled to face the Hilltoppers on October 10th.
