Marshall football set to return one of the nation’s most experienced offensive lines

As preseason practice continues for Marshall football, the team has five massive reasons why they want football to happen in the fall. They are set to return five seniors on the offensive line, an extreme rarity in college football.

Collectively the unit has 126 career starts under its belt. For context, that makes them the most experienced offensive line in the Conference USA and the fourth-most experienced in the country, according to Phil Steele’s annual college football preview.

It also helps that 2019 Conference USA Most Valuable Player Brendan Knox will be back to tote the rock. Last year, he rushed for 1,387 yards and 11 touchdowns, earning first-team all-conference honors.

Fellow all-conference honoree senior guard Cain Madden says the offensive line has one major goal in 2020: to prove it’s one of the best units in the nation.
