WOAY – Marshall announced its full 2018 football schedule on Tuesday, with six games to be played in Huntington this fall.
For the third time in four years, a “Power 5” school will visit Edwards Stadium, as North Carolina State arrives on September 22; the Thundering Herd beat Purdue to open the 2015 season but lost to Louisville in 2016. Doc Holliday’s team lost at NC State last season.
Marshall will head to South Carolina in the third week of the season for their second all-time meeting with the Gamecocks. Marshall won 24-21 in Columbia on September 19, 1998.
Currently, all games are scheduled for Saturdays, but some Conference USA games may be moved to weeknights. Marshall had two Friday night contests in 2017, winning at Middle Tennessee but losing at Florida Atlantic.
