Man who has repeatedly committed sex offender registry violations has been sentenced

Greenbrier County, WV (WOAY) – The Greenbrier County Prosecuting Attorney’s office says a man who has repeatedly committed sex offender registry violations has been sentenced.

Christopher Rider has been sentenced to ten to 25 years in prison. He was arrested in 2024 after state police found he had repeatedly failed to update his information in the sex offender registry.

He was previously convicted of a registry violation in Monroe County in 2023. Rider had to register for life after being convicted of sexual assault of a minor in 2016.

Prosecuting Attorney Nicole Campbell said her office understands how important the registry is and will continue to hold repeat offenders accountable.
