Man faces several felony charges in Tazewell County following domestic violence incident

Richlands, VA (WOAY) The Richlands Police Department is investigating a domestic violence incident that led to multiple felony arrests.

Police report on the evening of Friday, December 19, a woman came to the department’s lobby reporting she had been held against her will and assaulted at a Largen Street residence.

Officers observed visible injuries, and the victim was transported to Clinch Valley Medical Center for treatment.

Following the investigation and consultation with the Commonwealth’s Attorney, arrest warrants were obtained for Charles Leftwich on multiple felony charges, including strangulation, abduction, and malicious wounding.

Officers later located Leftwich at a nearby residence and took him into custody without incident.

During the arrest, police say suspected narcotics were found, leading to additional detentions and charges.

Chief Ron Holt says the department takes domestic violence seriously and remains committed to holding offenders accountable.
