Man charged with brandishing a weapon, obstructing an officer and more

Summers County, WV (WOAY) – The Summers County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man on multiple charges.

On Monday, Sergeant Ward responded to a report of a suspicious person along Route 20 near Bluestone Lake.

Sergeant Ward made contact with Tommy Prater, who was driving a white Ford Ranger.

During this, Prater exited his vehicle and allegedly made threatening statements towards Sergeant Ward while armed with a knife.

Prater was taken into custody with no incident.

Prater has been charged with brandishing a weapon, obstructing an officer, and simple possession.
