Raleigh County, WV (WOAY) – The West Virginia State Police say that they have arrested a man accused of exploiting the Whitaker family in Odd, West Virginia, for financial gain.
John Patrick Roark has been charged with financial exploitation of an incapacitated person, fraudulent schemes, and fraudulent use of an access device.
The state police say he used social media to exploit the disabilities and life difficulties of the Whittaker family to make social media content.
He allegedly used that content to collect money and other donations for himself.
He is being held in Southern Regional Jail on a $150,000 bond.
