Oak Hill, WV (WOAY) – An Afghan man accused of shooting two West Virginia National Guardsmen, leaving one dead and another critically injured, pleaded not guilty in court today.
He pleaded not guilty to murder and assault charges from his hospital bed.
Investigators say he shot Sarah Beckstrom and Andrew Wolfe on November 26. Beckstrom later died — and Wolfe remains in critical condition. His lawyer argued that he has no criminal record and should be released, but prosecutors said the charges are too serious for pre-trial release.
The judge ordered him held without bond — saying he poses a danger to the community.
Anyone who wants to send a card or note to Andy Wolfe can mail it to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department at 510 South Raleigh Street, Martinsburg, West Virginia 25401.
The cards should be addressed to Andy Wolfe. He is still in critical condition but is stable.
Senators Shelley Moore Capito and Jim Justice introduced a resolution today honoring Wolfe and Beckstrom.
