Loud Thunderstorms, Then Dry Weekend Before Changes Return

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): A warm front will trigger loud storms Friday morning before dry weather returns for the weekend.

TONIGHT: Watch for lightning in the far western horizon from dissipating storms moving across the Ohio River around sunset. We should see a spectacular sunset with the sun setting against a mid and high level deck of clouds.

FRIDAY: Loud storms with heavy rain in the morning followed by a few afternoon showers.

WEEKEND: Sprinkles will be followed by sunshine by 3 p.m. Sunday will be breezy but temperatures will be warmer than average.

NEXT WEEK: A cold front will trigger graupel (soft snow pellets) and snow showers above 3,000 feet on Monday with gusts to 30 mph. Temperatures will only reach the 40s. Snow showers early Tuesday will be followed by brisk wind. Snow Shoe will see 4″ of accumulation while the western Greenbrier Valley will see about an inch. Real estate near Route 19 and I-64 will see a dusting (likely not impacting roads). Temperatures will warm drastically into the 50s Wednesday and Thursday.
