Wyoming County, WV (WOAY) – The town of Oceana has implemented a curfew of midnight for the town.
This curfew is to help with the homeless population in the town.
At 11 p.m., the fire department siren will sound, letting people know they have one hour to get to where they need to be before midnight and not be walking the town streets.
Mayor Tom Evans tells Newswatch that the town has shut down the post office in the evenings, which used to be open twenty-four hours a day, due to homeless people sleeping in the building as well as other businesses being affected.
Mayor Evans says it’s another tool for law enforcement to use to keep people safe.
