ATHENS, WV (WOAY) – The Athens Volunteer Fire Department held a fundraiser this weekend with help from a local restaurant.
Brandon’s BBQ and Grille started doing fundraising events for the community a few months ago, and this is the second time they’ve held one for the volunteer fire department. According to the owner of the restaurant Brandon White, they’re happy that the community has been showing them their support.
“Really good turnout. This is our second time up here at the fire department. It was really good turnout the first time and they invited us back for more. It’s such a good cause for everybody up here. They need all the help they can get,” White said.
The Volunteer Fire Department is always looking for help with funding, and more fundraisers are likely to happen in the future, should anyone want to donate.
