Local pet grooming company reopens

MOUNT HOPE, WV (WOAY) – A local dog business is back open after being closed for over a month.

Elmo and Friends Dog Salon located in Mount Hope reopened its doors last week. The pet salon will continue practicing social distancing by using a no-contact, drop off method. Elmo and Friends Dog Salon is booked for the entire month of June. Owner Lisa Gravley says she is glad to be back in business because regular pet grooming is important for every dog.

“They need their toenails clipped every 6 weeks if they don’t they can grow into their pads. It can affect their joints when they’re walking. Their hair grows into their eyes. Then we have dogs that have allergies and get bathe every two weeks. I thought we should’ve been essential for the health of the dog, but we’re glad we’re back now;” said Garvley.
