Local church celebrates Mother’s Day from a distance

BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – Many churches have already re-opened. Some churches like God’s House of Miracle decided to stay closed for the entire month of May to help protect their members.

“They’re going to be giving out gift cards from Kroger to all the mothers of the church and they’re also giving them a card, a Mother’s Day card and give them a flower a rose. And they will visit by putting in the mailbox of each lady’s house,” said Eunice Jones.

“It shows the love for mothers and the great jobs that they do and they’re not forgotten and to inspire them to keep up being mothers. And it brings back memories for those who lost their
mothers and those who have their mothers with them to be grateful for the great mothers that we do have,” said Eunice Jones.

Despite the church stain closed. The congregation is still honoring mothers for Mother’s Day,” said Eunice Jones.

“Most of all we just thank God for the great women of our church. They’re great mothers and not only to their children but to other children, and being a woman is special,” said Eunice Jones.

Pastor Eunice Jones says it’s important to honor mothers and everything that they do.

God’s House of Miracle will reopen their doors on the first Sunday of June.
