FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – For years, worshippers flocked to that church on the hill in Hilltop.
Under new ownership, it also has a new name: The Rising Remnant House of Restoration, where they will have their dedication on October 25 at 3 pm.
Pastor Amanda Jones shares what that spiritual journey looks like.
“They can come saved. They can come unsaved. Our job is to preach the word of God and allow God to do the work within them,” said Jones. “We don’t get none of the credit. He ultimately gets the increase.”
Come as you are. After RRHR’s kickoff, everybody is welcome to Saturday and Sunday services, with the fellowship hall open to the community as a birthday party, anniversary, or event venue.
“Before the year is over, opening up our food pantry and clothing closet to help make sure the residents in this area are not going hungry, that they have adequate clothing, and we’re going to be able to provide that for them,” Jones said.
According to the pastor, they plan to have educational resources and opportunities since they work closely with rehabilitation homes and prisons. She says ensuring people get the help they need to become productive members of society. They have a multitude of umbrellas in the ministry.
“Most importantly, we’re excited to see those who want to come be blessed by the word of God and worship him,” said Jones. “That’s what it’s all about, giving him the glory, honor, and praise he deserves.”
It’s exciting to think of every person that’s ever going to walk through the church’s door, the pastor says, and what God’s going to do.
“My goal was that they leave knowing they are loved, that God loves them, and that their lives were changed forever,” Jones said.
