Late Week Rain, Brief Cold Snap Then Back to Spring

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Clouds will break in time for sunset and then rain returns Friday afternoon.

RAIN: Amounts of 0.50-0.75″ will trigger flooding in poor drainage spots Saturday. The best chance for rain is in the morning and then late evening. Flood Watches are not anticipated due to our large river basins remaining below flood stage.

FOG: A warm front lifting through the region Saturday morning will promote fog above 3,000 feet.

WIND: Peak gusts of 20-25 mph expected Friday afternoon. Peak gusts will reach 30 mph Saturday afternoon and then 30-35 mph gusts on Sunday afternoon. A handful of power outages are possible Sunday, but a widespread event with damage is NOT expected.

SNOW: Elevations above 2,500 feet will see flurries on Sunday. Up to 1 inch of snow is expected above 3,000 feet Sunday. Otherwise, no accumulation will occur.

ALLERGIES: A high pollen count will return Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of next week as a dry and warmer trend commences.
