Kickoff time change for Marshall-Appalachian State

WOAY – Marshall athletics announced Tuesday the Thundering Herd’s home football game with Appalachian State will now start at 3:30 Saturday in Huntington. It had previously been scheduled for 1:30 PM.

In addition, the game will air on broadcast network television instead of cable.

The Mountaineers will travel to Edwards Stadium ranked 23rd in the Associated Press poll, after defeating Charlotte 35-20 in their season opener September 12. Marshall is receiving votes in the poll as they are also 1-0.

This will be Marshall’s first home game against a ranked opponent since #3 Louisville visited in 2016; the Cardinals won that contest 59-28 with eventual Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson. The Herd’s most recent ranked opponent was #24 Boise State, who won 14-7 in Idaho last year.

Earlier this week, it was announced that West Virginia’s game at Oklahoma State will kick off at 3:30 PM ET on September 26. That same day, Virginia Tech will host North Carolina State at 8 PM.
