UPDATE – The Pratt Volunteer Fire Department has resolved their issues with their insurance carrier and the department has reopened.
Pratt, WV (WOAY) – An insurance issue has forced a Kanawha County volunteer fire department to temporarily close its doors.
According to a post on the department Facebook page, The Pratt Volunteer Fire Department has been temporarily shut down by the WV State Fire Marshall’s Office due to the insurance company not sending out proper notices of changes.
Officials with the department are working with their insurance carrier and hope to resolve the issue in a timely manner.
Until the station can reopen, fire departments from Montgomery and East Bank will handle Pratt’s emergency calls.
