Saint Albans, WV (WOAY) Kanawha County Sheriffs are investigating a shooting that took place in Saint Albans.
According to a media release, Kanawha County deputies responded to a reported shooting on February 23 at approximately 9:11 p.m. in the 12000 block of Coal River Road in Saint Albans.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the face.
The victim was conscious, alert, able to speak with police, and to walk to the awaiting ambulance.
He was transported to a local hospital for treatment, but there are currently no further updates on his condition.
The male suspect fled the crime scene before police arrived.
Detectives are actively working to identify and locate the individual responsible.
This remains an active investigation.
