Charleston, WV (WOAY) – The Kanawha County Sheriff’s is celebrating a historic milestone during Women’s History Month.
For the first time in the law enforcement agency’s history, they have a female Chief of Detectives.
Lt. Ana Pile was promoted to the position after serving 20 years in the sheriff’s office. She began her career in 2004 gaining extensive experience as a patrol deputy and in 2013 she was assigned to the CIS division where she exceled.
Pile was later appointed to assist the chief of detectives and continued her education earning a master’s degree.
Sheriff Joe Crawford and Chief Deputy Sean Snuffer released a statement on the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page on Lt. Pile’s promotion:
“This appointment was an effortless decision. Ana has continuously demonstrated hard work, dedication and compassion necessary to oversee this critical division. Detectives face some of the most complex and harrowing cases in law enforcement and Ana leads with both professionalism and empathy. She is an inspiration to both her colleagues and the community.”
