Saint Albans, WV (WOAY) The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help identifying two suspects in an attempted arson investigation.
Deputies say a patrol vehicle near Saint Albans High School was vandalized around 11:50 pm on Friday, August 28.
Surveillance video shows two white males who investigators believe poured a mixture of motor oil and gasoline on the patrol vehicle.
They then left a trail of the mixture about 20 yards down the street and appeared to try to ignite it.
The attempt was unsuccessful.
One suspect was wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans.
The second was wearing khaki shorts, a black backpack, and distinctive blue shoes with yellow soles.
Anyone with information or surveillance video from the area between 11:00 p.m. on August 28 and 3:00 a.m. on August 29 is asked to call Sergeant Coleman at 304-357-0169.
