West Virginia (WOAY) The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the community’s help in locating a driver following a crash.
Authorities are investigating to identify the driver of a gold, older-model GMC Sierra pickup truck involved in a serious motorcycle crash on Rocky Fork Road.
On Monday, September 14 at approximately 12:09 p.m., the GMC Sierra was traveling on Rocky Fork Road when a spare tire in the rear of the truck fell from the vehicle and struck another vehicle traveling behind it.
The driver of the vehicle that was struck stopped to avoid further damage.
A 19-year-old male on a motorcycle behind that vehicle attempted to swerve to the left to avoid a collision and was hit by the tire.
The motorcyclist was ejected from the motorcycle, over a guardrail, and down the hillside.
He has sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash.
Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information that could help identify the vehicle or its driver to contact them.
Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact Deputy Booker at 304-357-0169 or leave a tip on their website at www.kanawhasheriff.us.
