Charleston,WV (WOAY) The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) is mourning the loss of one of its retired K9 officers.
According to an official media release, K9 Brix passed away over the weekend at 13 years old.
Brix faithfully served the citizens of Kanawha County alongside his partner, Sgt. Mike Dickerson
He retired on September 1, 2023.
After retirement, he stayed with Sgt. Dickerson, who now serves as a School Resource Officer for the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office.
KCSO says that Brix wasn’t just a K-9 but a part of the family who will be deeply missed.
