Charleston, WV (WOAY) The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the next generation of deputies.
The department will hold its next applicant testing on Saturday, July 25.
The process includes a written exam and physical fitness test to evaluate candidates’ readiness to serve and protect the community.
Fitness requirements include completing 18 push-ups in one minute, 28 sit-ups in one minute, and a 1.5-mile run in 14 minutes and 36 seconds.
Officials say becoming a deputy sheriff is more than a job but a commitment to protecting neighbors and serving Kanawha County.
The application deadline is July 17 at 4:00 p.m.
