Belle, WV (WOAY) Kanawha County deputies are searching for a suspect after a bank robbery in Belle on Thursday afternoon.
Investigators say the suspect entered Whitesville State Bank on East DuPont Avenue around 3:50 p.m. and handed a teller a note demanding money.
Deputies say the suspect repeatedly reached toward his pockets, implying he may have been armed.
The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash, and the suspect fled on foot toward the river.
He’s described as a white man standing at least six feet tall with long hair, a red or brown beard, and glasses.
He was wearing a blue sun hat, a black long-sleeve shirt, black pants, and white tennis shoes.
Investigators say he may have been wearing a disguise.
The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office, West Virginia State Police helicopter crews, and a K-9 unit searched the area, but the suspect has not been located.
