Charleston, WV (WOAY)- In Kanawha County, a vacancy has opened on the Board of Education following the resignation of longtime board member and current president, Tracy White. Â
Now, the Board is seeking to fill her seat.Â
 Per West Virginia law, the vacancy must be filled within 45 days. Â
The appointed member will serve the remainder of White’s term, ending June 30, 2026.Â
To be eligible, applicants must live in Kanawha County, hold a high school diploma or GED, and not be employed by the school system.Â
