Kanawha County, WV (WOAY) – A Kanawha County man has been sentenced on a federal gun charge.
According to a media release from the United States Department of Justice, 31-year-old Robert J. Thomas of Saint Albans, West Virginia, has been sentenced to four years in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
According to court records, Thomas was in possession of a handgun in the Jefferson area of Kanawha County.
Thomas was prohibited from carrying a firearm due to a felony conviction in Putnam County in October of 2019.
