Justice H. L. Kirkpatrick publicly sworn in as Justice of the Supreme Court of Appeals of WV

Kanawha County, WV (WOAY) – Justice H. L. Kirkpatrick was publicly sworn in as Justice of the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia at a ceremony in the state capitol today.

The Beckley native was elected to the bench in May and was initially sworn in during a private ceremony in June, allowing him to start work right away.

Kirkpatrick was a Raleigh County Circuit Judge for almost two full decades and practiced law across southern West Virginia.

Following his retirement, he served as a special judge of the circuit court in Fayette County for four months.
