Just for Kids held it’s 13th annual Charity Golf Tournament

DANIELS, WV (WOAY)- Just for Kids’ 13th annual golf tournament was held here, at Wood Haven Golf Course in Glade Springs. A large group of attendees putted off for a great cause.

Just for Kids supports children who are abused and neglected in Raleigh and Fayette counties. They rely solely on donations and fundraisers for their efforts. This golf tournament is a big contributor to that.

“Just for Kids is pretty dependent on donations and contributions from the community,” explained Dr. Deanee Johnson, Executive director of Just for Kids. “We are blessed to have a community that really embraces us and that enjoys golf. And it’s a great opportunity for everybody to come together and play and to support us at the same time.

Every year, this tournament grows in fundraising and attendance.

“This is the 13th annual Just for Kids charity golf tournament,” said Marcy Nolan, President of the board of directors of JFK.”It started with six people 13 years ago and has grown to 116 players, and we had to turn people away because it was so wonderful.”

Last year, they successfully raised $85,000 for the organization.

In addition to the tournament, guests could participate in auctions and raffles, and all the money would go to help the kids.
