WOAY – Marshall’s Jon Elmore announced Monday he will withdraw his name from the NBA Draft and return to Huntington for his senior season.
The George Washington High School alum is the reigning Conference USA Tournament MVP, having been named to the league’s First Team and a three-time Player of the Week during the 2017-18 season. He led the Thundering Herd in scoring and field goal attempts per game.
Last year, Marshall clinched its first NCAA Tournament berth in 31 years, and won its first tournament game in school game by defeating Wichita State in the opening round.
Of the three Herd underclassmen who had originally submitted paperwork to enter the NBA Draft, two are returning to school – Elmore and C.J. Burks. Ajdin Penava has signed with an agent.
