James Monroe High School hosts a military signing day

LINDSIDE, WV (WOAY)- This week is military signing week. It’s about recognizing students who are committed to serving in our armed forces.

This week, the Department of Education and Common Ground Partners have been hosting events across the state.

James Monroe High School hosted a signing event yesterday in their auditorium. Three seniors in the JROTC program committed to our armed forces.

Abigail Dolan signed with the United States Marine Corps, Gavin French signed with the WVU ROTC program for a full 4-year scholarship, and Aleigha Hill signed with the West Virginia Air National Guard.

James Monroe High School was just one of the 46 schools hosting these events across the state to honor 249 students who are committing to serve our country.
