OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – Jade Tiger Games, a local card game shop, converted their card tournaments into an online format.
Their weekly tournament program, Friday Night Magic, has been a staple of the business, but during the pandemic they wanted to find a way to keep holding it while staying safe.
Tygra de Mello, an employee with the shop says they didn’t want to cancel the tournaments altogether, so finding a way to move them online was the next best thing.
“It’s important to us because ever since the store opened its doors our main goal has always been to give the players an entertaining, safe and friendly atmosphere. And for our Magic player community at Friday Night Magic at Jade Tiger Games, it is as much about socializing as well as it is playing a card game. And in the current climate, being safe unfortunately means we have to be socially distant,” Tygra de Mello said.
The card game tournaments are consistently held every Friday entirely online.
