It’s STEM day at Saints Peter and Paul

Fayette County, WV (WOAY) — Today at Saints Peter and Paul, third, fourth, and fifth graders gathered to show off some of the projects they’ve done this year.

Students have learned how to code and have done engineering and construction projects.

The event is a remake learning day by the West Virginia Public Education Collaborative.

According to STEM instructor Cliff Sullvia, these projects are preparing students for the future.

During the school year, students learned to code video games and remote devices. They also built engineering projects like straw rockets and ping pong balls.

The program has spread to all 55 counties in West Virginia.

For students, it is a chance to learn new things and problem solve.
