Big Chimney,WV (WOAY) Authorities in Kanawha County say human remains were discovered during the investigation into a missing West Virginia teenager.
According to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office, deputies executed a search warrant Friday at a home on Offutt Drive in Big Chimney connected to the disappearance of 16-year-old Shayln Harvey.
Investigators say detectives have been following leads, conducting interviews, and gathering evidence since Harvey was reported missing on May 4.
During the search, officials say female human remains were found on the property.
The remains will now be sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for positive identification and further examination.
Sheriff’s officials say no additional information will be released at this time as the investigation remains ongoing.
