Hico, WV (WOAY) – Midland Trail girls basketball hosted Nicholas County on Thursday, with both teams looking for a key win before sectionals.
It was Senior Night for the Lady Patriots, with Oanell Costard, Makenna Nickell, Brianna Ruffner & Mallory Stonestreet being honored pregame.
The Lady Grizzlies began the game on an 11-0 run, in large part due to Anna Hamilton’s success in the paint. She led all scorers with 25 points as Nicholas County won 64-38. Jenny Wilson had 11 points for Midland Trail.
The Lady Patriots begin sectional play Saturday against Valley in a game that will take place at Oak Hill High School. Nicholas County is the top seed in their section.
