Smithers, WV (WOAY) – Just days after nearly upsetting Fayetteville, Valley boys basketball remained home on Monday to host Midland Trail.
The game was a back-and-forth contest in the first half, with the Greyhounds’ Spencer Dean and Patriots’ Noah Minor making key plays in particular. With the game tied at 21 at halftime, Midland Trail got out to lead in the third quarter, before Valley rallied to force overtime.
Two free throws from Dondre Davis gave Valley the 57-56 win. Minor led all scorers with 27 points, while Dean had 17 for the Greyhounds.
