Oak Hill, WV (WOAY) – In a game that would come down to the final few seconds of regulation, Independence’s Kyle Saunders hit a game-winning three-pointer to give the Patriots a 58-57 win at Oak Hill Monday night.
The Red Devils led after three quarters, but the Patriots were able to turn a four-point deficit into a four-point lead (55-51) in the final minutes through multiple contributors.
Oak Hill countered with three-pointers from Dallas Jones & Tristan Morgan to give the hosts a 57-55 lead. On the ensuing Independence possession, Tyler Haga found Saunders open on the wing for the deciding basket.
