Raleigh County, WV (WOAY) – Women United, an initiative of United Way of Southern West Virginia, hosted an education presentation to help parents and community members better understand the growing dangers of sexual exploitation and sextortion affecting young people.
It took place on Thursday at the historic Black Knight Country Club in Beckley.
It was designed to provide parents, caregivers, educators, and community members with critical information about online exploitation, warning signs, and practical steps to protect children.
Our modern online world presents new threats to us all. Always keeping your guard up while recognizing that not everyone is who they say they are is a skill honed with experience and age.
This is why children, who are often more trusting than adults, are vulnerable.
