Fayette County, WV (WOAY) –Â 15,000 people are spending ten days on the mountain at the National Scout Jamboree. To keep up, organizers set up an entire field hospital.
Ten days of zip lines, BMX tracks, and climbing walls means bumps and cuts come with the territory, so Scouting America builds an entire array of cabin tents dedicated to medical care.
2026 Jamboree Chairman Glenn Ault, a surgeon who led the Jamboree’s Medical Service in 2013, says the Jamboree Health Center can handle most of what comes through the door.
West Virginia University is among the partners the Jamboree relies on to provide this level of care on site. Ault says the point is keeping scouts here instead of sending them home.
