How high school coaches are dealing with scheduling changes

BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – With their schedules being reshuffled on a weekly basis, high school coaches have had to take on new roles.

That includes working tirelessly to communicate with other schools to find replacement games.

“It’s definitely a long, tedious process,” said Woodrow Wilson girls’ soccer coach Julie Agnor, who communicates with other coaches via phone or Facebook message. “It takes me all of Saturday and some of Sunday [to find new opponents].”

Once game locations are changed, she also has to coordinate with referees to make sure a crew is present. Agnor says her husband has helped out with the process. He keeps track of which counties move to the orange or red phases.

“It’s been really nice to have someone that can help me get through all that stuff because it changes so often,” said Agnor.

Next up, the Flying Eagles face Greenbrier East at home on Tuesday.
