WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): A hot and mostly dry day is expected across southern West Virginia to wrap up the work week. A passing shower may occur in the higher elevations today, and there will be clouds, but overall dry conditions are expected. Later today I only have a 10% chance for folks across southern West Virginia.
It will be hot today, with temperatures pushing the mid-80s. However, with the humidity, it could feel more like the 90s in some locations. Temperatures will stay about the same for the weekend, though rain chances and humidity levels really jump for Saturday and Sunday. It’s likely we will have a stormy afternoon and evening tomorrow, with some storms capable of producing heavy downpours and gusty winds.
It’s definitely a good day and weekend to practice your hot weather survival tactics, such as drinking plenty of fluids, hopping in the pool, staying indoors, eating ice cream, or avoiding the peak heating hours. Enjoy and have a great Friday.
