WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): High pressure guarantees another hot and dry day on Tuesday and Wednesday and then late week Debby rain arrives.
RAINFALL: Southern West Virginia will get 0.25-1.0 inch of rain Friday into Saturday as Debby and a stationary front interact in the Mid-Atlantic. We need 3 to 5 inches to catch up to our summer rainfall deficit.
Meanwhile, east of the Appalachians, dangerous flooding is likely Wednesday thanks to predecessor rain ahead of Debby and along a stationary front. This includes much of Virginia east of the Blue Ridge. Then, Thursday into Saturday, more rain will inundate Virginia, where more flooding is expected, east of the Blue Ridge.
TEMPERATURES: Tuesday will be the hottest day of the week with a high of 89 degrees. Wednesday will be a few degrees cooler, and then the clouds and rain Friday will keep temperatures in the 70s. As the front finally pushes through early this weekend, we are in for a stretch of 70-degree days this weekend into early next week. Low temperatures at night will be in the 50s.
