Honda Motors expands recall for lawnmower and pressure washer engines

Oak Hill, WV (CNN)—American Honda Motor is recalling about 200 replacement engines for lawnmowers and pressure washers.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the starter rope can suddenly retract when pulled, posing an injury risk.

Back in September 2023, Honda recalled 391,000 engines for the same issue.

At the time, two thousand incidents were reported to the company, including 38 minor injuries.

Since that recall, Honda has received an additional 3,000 incident reports.

Honda advises anyone with a recalled engine to visit an authorized Honda power equipment dealer for a free inspection and repair.
