Honda and Acura recalling 1.7 million of its vehicles over a steering issue.

West Virginia (CNN)- Nearly two million Honda and Acura vehicles in the United States are being affected by a steering issue.

Honda said the problem can cause abnormal steering noise.

It can also lead to increased sticky steering and difficulty, which can increase the risk of a crash.

The recall affects one-point-seven million 2022 through 2024 Acura and Honda vehicles.

The automaker is offering a free repair of the defective part in the steering gearbox at authorized dealers.

Owners will begin receiving mail notifications on the issue in November.
